Whether you’re a beginner to Chinese cooking or have had some previous experience, Lan can help you learn dishes that will become a permanent addition to your recipe file.
Philosophy: Lan believes that the best way to learn is to try it yourself. At her cooking classes, you’ll enjoy hands-on instruction–these are not simply demonstrations that leave you wondering how to do it at home. Classes generally include 3 dishes and are followed by a meal (lunch or dinner).
Fee: Starting at $30 per class. Includes hands-on instruction, copies of recipes, and lunch or dinner.
Sample dishes: vegetable lo mein, shrimp fried rice, Kung Pao chicken, beef with snow peas, shrimp with lobster sauce, hot and spicy tofu/bean curd, Mu Shu chicken, sushi, Dim Sum, and more.
Please note: Lan’s Cooking School has closed its Durham location, but we are currently taking reservations for 2011 classes as we look for another venue. Classes for vegetarian, low-carb, and low-calorie diets also available.
